Gerry Place and Bill Mosher have opened up a big lead in the US Open division with a 14 point night. John Gorman and Jim Hogan sit five and a half points back in second place. Well, it's early yet.

Gary Tingley and Gary Wilson have taken over the lead in the Masters division with their own 14 point night. Last week's leaders, Armstrong and Rafferty sit in second place, two and a half points behind.

Some quick notes about scoring and the score cards. First of all, scoring is one point per hole per man with one point for low net (not gross). This means a total of 10 points per individual match and a total of 20 points for both teams. If the points don't add up to those amounts, you've done something wrong. As far as the cards go, I know they're not laid out the best for our scoring system, but they're free. Some guys have their own method of keeping points and I don't mean to change anyone's ways - if it works for you, great. But for those of you who have no clue how to mark the points or are looking for a better way, here's what I do. For a win, circle the winning score. For a tie, draw a line between the scores. And don't forget to mark the net total score as well. This way the full and half points are easily recognized and added up. If you want to note birdies on the score card for the skins game, some other marking will do. Or don't bother, since we have to double check the cards for cancellations anyway, we look at all the scores whether they're marked or not.
