Tom Deering and Les Richmond are still the leaders in the Masters division, but their lead over Jeff Bowman and Gary Christopher is down to two-and-a-half points. Over in the US Open division, we have a tie for first place between the teams of Gary Simmons/Joe Prignon and Tom Turck/Dave Potter with Mike Steigerwalt/Don Beal just one-and-a-half points behind. So, with only three weeks remaining, the races in each division are starting to heat up.
Hole of the day: #16. My group was teeing off #17 when we saw Al Riker, the first one to tee off on #16, hit a shot within three feet of the cup. I immediately thought, "We have a winner!" However, it was not to be as several groups later, Glenn Robbins had a hole-in-one! That's right, a hole-in-one! Congrats to Glenn. That's the first hole-in-one we've had in the league since I've been in it (about 10 years) - perhaps the elder members of the league can remember the last one.
The year-end tournament and banquet is now less than a month away. Remember to set aside Saturday, August 27th - tee time will be 9:00am with the banquet immediately after the 18-hole tournament. I'll be sending out a message soon asking who is able to make it. Subs that are interested in playing can let me know anytime.
