We had another great night for golfing - hopefully, the weather will be just like that the rest of the season.
Since I've been featuring the leaders of the divisions each week, I thought I'd do something different this week and feature the bottom dwellers. In the Masters division, we have a tie between Gary Tingley/Gary Wilson and Tom Turck/Dave Potter. Over in the US Open division, after a sixteen-point thrashing by some guys named Lamoreaux and Myers, Ray Doty and Wayne Sherwood hold a one point lead over Bob Scofield and Ted Capogrossi. May the next six weeks bring you better fortune than the last ten.
Please, please, please let me know ahead of time if you're having a sub play for you. You can either call me or send me an e-mail by 3pm Wednesday to let me know. This will make my life easier and I won't have to scramble fixing the cards at the course. This also lets our treasurer know ahead of time how many greens fees we have to pay. If you truly have a last minute sub, that's fine, I just don't want to have to change a half-dozen cards like this past week. Please pass this along to those who don't have e-mail. Thanks!
Also, a word about the range fee. This is the fee that the course charges a non-Stonehedges member to ride in a member's cart. It is $5. We haven't really kept track of the subs that come in that this may apply to as this is very difficult for Scott and I to track - we don't know everyone that has their own cart and whether it might be broken on a particular night and a regular rental cart is rented and so on. So, we are kindly asking that everyone be responsible for keeping track of this for us. If you are a member with your own cart and a non-member sub plays for your partner, we request that you collect the $5 fee or have the sub pay it in the clubhouse. Also, if you are a non-member and a member subs for your partner and he has his own cart (several of our subs do), please pay the $5 fee in the clubhouse. Don't worry about past week's fees, just worry about this going forward. Again, please pass this on to those who don't have e-mail. Thanks!
And now for this week's golf joke:
The bride came down the aisle and when she reached the altar, the groom was standing there with his golf bag and clubs at his side. She asked him, "What are your golf clubs doing here?" He looked her right in the eye and said, "This isn't going to take all day, is it?"
