We're now halfway through the season. Mike Steigerwalt and Don Beal have opened up a seven-and-a-half point lead in the US Open division. There are three teams tied for second with another three teams tied for fifth just two points out of second. In the Masters division, Steve Miller and Bill Scott continue to lead the division with a six point lead over Doug Boles and Al Mix.
This week is the mid-year tournament and banquet. As we have done the past several years, we are having a four-man best ball tournament. This means everyone plays their own ball. You will take the two best scores (with handicap included) to count for your score. The cards will have your handicap strokes marked on the appropriate holes and spots for each of your best ball scores (note - the scores can come from any two guys - they do not have to come from each team or anything like that). Each team in the Masters division will be paired up with a team from the US Open division. Pairings are noted in the results for this week. Since this is a fun night, your scores for this week will not count against your handicap. We will have some prizes at the banquet for the teams with the lowest scores.
