It was a little cold out there for the first week, but a number of brave souls took to the course. Hopefully, it will start to warm up again for our next few weeks.
The fun night winners were: In the Lansing division, one of our new teams, Jeff Howell and Steve Sweazey, led the way with a 37. Doug Boles and Tony Macera came in second with a 38. Over in the World division, Gerry Place and Bill Mosher had a 35 while Ed Dow and Al Maccou had a 41. There were no skins, so a hole was drawn at random and the teams that had a birdie on that hole split the money. Congrats to all and good shooting!
This week we will start our regular league play. Refer to the roster on the home page which contains the league schedule at the bottom to see who you are playing this week.
Once again, we are allowing league members who are 70 years old or older to use the senior tees. You will need to establish a new handicap from these tees if you haven't used them in the past. There is only one person that I'm aware of that will be using these tees - Bill Scott. Subs are also allowed to use these if they meet the age requirement. Please let me know if anyone else decides to use them.
There are a few new players this year who will be establishing a handicap this week, so you won't be able to figure out points for them until after the night is over. If you wish, just bring the card to me and I can quickly figure out the points. Also, handicaps are based on five scores instead of ten this year, so they will flucuate more this year. If you have any questions about your handicap, let me know.
A reminder about subs - please let me know who will be subbing for you as soon as possible. This eliminates surprises at the course and me having to re-arrange score cards. Thanks!
Our skins game works as follows - skins are for individuals, so for anyone wanting to enter, the fee is $2 per person. The skins game is for the whole league - no divisions. There will be a signup sheet and a box for the money at our table each week. If there are no skins for a particular week, then the money carries over to the next week.
Skins: Place/Mosher and Bob Knapp on #2
CTTP: Gerry Place - 16' 7"
