Congratulations to our divisional winners, Ted Kilts and Tim Walters in the Lansing division and Les Richmond and Wayne Sherwood in the World division. This is two years in a row for Les with different partners each year.
This week the two division winners will have a match to determine the overall winner. The rest of us will have a fun night. Since our fun night from the first week was rained out, we will follow that format. You and your partner are a team. Format is as follows:
Holes #10, #11 and #12 - Team plays alternate shot - each player hits off the tee, then for the second shot, each player hits from where their partner's tee shot landed. Then the best shot is selected and you take turns each shot after that - score goes on the card. Example - Player B hits from where Player A's tee shot landed and his second shot is the best. Player A will then hit the third shot from where Player's B's second shot landed. Player B then hits the fourth shot and so on until the hole is completed.
Holes #13, #14 and #15 - Team plays a two man scramble (captain and mate) - score goes on the card.
Holes #16, #17 and #18 - Team plays a best ball format - each player plays his own ball and the lowest score goes on the card.
There is no handicap.
I have special scorecards made up that will indicate which holes use which format. Since we use a shotgun start you may be starting with any of the three formats. A team teeing off #15 will play the two man scramble on #15 and then play best ball on #16. This way everyone plays the same format on the same holes.
There will be a skins game available. It will be $4 per team. Only birdies and eagles are eligible for skins. If there are no skins, then all teams that have an eagle will split the pot. If there are no eagles, then a hole will be drawn at random and all teams with a birdie on that hole will split the pot. If there are no birdies on that hole, then another hole will be drawn at random.
We will have some small prizes for first and second place in each division so stick around for a few minutes after we're done so we can hand them out.
This week is the women's league banquet. Next week will be our year-end tournament and banquet. I will be sending out an email asking who will be able to make the tournament so I can start putting together teams. Please reply to the message when you get a chance.
