Well, it was a cold night, but we got nine holes in. Hopefully, the rest of the season will be much better.

The fun night winners were: In the Lansing division, there was a three way tie for first at 35. After matching cards, Tony Macera and Doug Boles sub were first, Jeff Baker and Dick Baker were second and Bob Knapp and Gary Mullen were third. Over in the World division, Mike Scott and Brian Walker had 36 and there was a tie for second at 38. After matching cards, Ed Dow and David Dow were second and Scott Barron and Gary Reynolds were third. Congrats to all and good shooting!

This week we will start our regular league play. Refer to the roster on the home page which contains the league schedule at the bottom to see who you are playing this week.

Once again, we are allowing league members who are 70 years old or older to use the senior tees. You will need to establish a new handicap from these tees if you haven't used them in the past. Bob Knapp, Gary Mullen and Dick Baker are using them. Let me know if there are any others. Subs are also allowed to use these if they meet the age requirement - I'm aware of Stan Burke and Tom Leahy using the senior tees.

There are a few new players this year who will be establishing a handicap this week, so you won't be able to figure out points for them until after the night is over. If you wish, just bring the card to me and I can quickly figure out the points. If you have any questions about your handicap, let me know.

A reminder about subs - please let me know who will be subbing for you as soon as possible. This eliminates surprises at the course and me having to re-arrange score cards. Thanks!

Our skins game works as follows - skins are for individuals, so for anyone wanting to enter, the fee is $2 per person. The skins game is for the whole league - no divisions. There will be a signup sheet and a box for the money at our table each week. If there are no skins for a particular week, then the money carries over to the next week.

New this year - we will be trying something different this year for at least the first couple of weeks. Anyone who wants to try for the closest-to-the-pin will throw in a dollar. Whoever gets closest-to-the-pin gets half the money and the other half goes into the league funds. This should raise a little extra money to have some nicer banquets. I'll have this signup on the same sheet as the skins signup sheet. After a week or two, we'll see what the league thinks about continuing it.

Skins: Boles/Macera on #5 (eagle), Christopher/Gobel on #7 and Boles/Walters on #8
