The top eight teams have made the playoffs (more on that later). For the rest of us, we will be playing in a mini-tournament for the next three weeks. All points are reset to zero. The two teams in the mini-tournament that take the most points over the next three weeks will get a little extra prize money at the banquet. Matchups for the first week of the mini-tournament and the playoffs are listed on the results page.

There are no new subs for the rest of the season. All eligible subs are listed at the bottom of the results page. Those eligible subs that I have contact info for are listed on the player roster page. All ineligible subs have been removed from both lists.

We have a makeup week built into our schedule (8/21) in case one of the three playoff/mini-tournament weeks is rained out. If we don't get rained out over the next three weeks, then we will use that week to make-up the match that got rained out even though it won't count in the standings.

Congratulations to those teams that have made the playoffs. Scott Steiner and Pat Mikula won the Lansing East Division, Craig Christopher and Scott Bishop won the Lansing Central Division, Dick Biviano and Steve Tinker won the Lansing West Division and Larry VanOstrand and Bob Anderson won the wild card in the Lansing Conference. Mike Scott and Ed Dow won the World East Division, Scott Barron and Gary Reynolds won the World Central Division, Nate Evangelista and Dave Evangelista won the World West Division and Tom Sullivan and Jim Myers won the wild card in the World Conference.

For the playoffs, any matches that end in a 10-10 tie should be broken in some fashion that is agreed upon by both teams. Whether that is playing an extra hole or having a chipping/putting contest - it doesn't matter. Please find some way to break the tie. Also, please double-check your scores, totals and points. I'd hate to see a team think that they won a tie-breaker when the match was never actually tied because of some mistake on the scorecard. The scorecards come in 90% correct, but there are occasional mistakes with total scores being added up wrong which affects the net total point or a point is assigned to the wrong person (done that myself) or points added up wrong, etc. Thanks.

Teams who lose in the first two rounds of the playoffs will keep playing each other in subsequent weeks to determine 3rd through 8th place, so bragging rights are still on the line for those teams.

Round of the week: Mike Scott had five birdies (including the first four holes we played), but "only" managed a 35 as he had two bogeys and one double-bogey. So, he shot 35 with only one par! Nice round, Mike!
