Congratulations to our division winners - Baker/Baker in the Lansing East, VanOstrand/Anderson in the Lansing Central, Dennison/Spencer in the Lansing West, Reynolds/Barron in the World East, Amato/English in the World Central and Dow/Dow in the World West.

Also, congratulations to our wild card winners - Macera/Boles in the Lansing Conference and Miller/Scott in the World conference.

This week will begin the playoffs for those eight teams. The rest of the teams will have a three-week mini-tournament - the top two points takers for the three weeks will get a little extra money back at the banquet. Matchups on the results page are accurate.

There are no new subs for the rest of the season (including this week). All eligible subs are listed at the bottom of the results page. Those eligible subs that I have contact info for are listed on the player roster page. All ineligible subs have been removed from both lists.

We have a makeup week built into our schedule (8/27) with the year-end tournament and banquet after that. If any playoff weeks get rained out, we'll use that week for it, otherwise, we'll use it to makeup the match that got rained out even though it won't count in the standings.

For the playoffs, any matches that end in a 10-10 tie should be broken in some fashion that is agreed upon by both teams. Whether that is playing an extra hole or having a chipping/putting contest - it doesn't matter. Please find some way to break the tie. Also, please double-check your scores, totals and points when a match is close. I'd hate to see a team think that they won a tie-breaker when the match was never actually tied because of some mistake on the scorecard or that they won the match when a point was accidentally assigned to the loser of the hole and they actually lost the match. The scorecards come in 90% correct, but there are occasional mistakes with total scores being added up wrong which affects the net total point or a point is assigned to the wrong person (done that myself) or points added up wrong, etc.

A quick reminder on the scoring - each hole is worth one point for the net score (gross score minus any strokes given on that hole) and net total (gross total - total handicap) is also worth one point. Each individual match adds up to 10 points with the total match adding up to 20 points.

Teams who lose in the first two rounds of the playoffs will keep playing each other in subsequent weeks to determine 3rd through 8th place, so bragging rights are still on the line for those teams.
