The weather held off and it was a nice evening for golf. The forecast really didn't look good earlier in the day and I was seriously considering cancelling the night. But the forecast kept getting better and better and a couple of people encouraged me to give it a go, so we did. And I'm really glad that we did (more on that later).

As most of you know by now, I had my first hole-in-one on #7. I hit a 5 hybrid and it landed a little short. As we watched it roll towards the hole, I yelled, "Get in the hole!" and it disppeared soon after. To my partner and me, it looked like the ball diappeared after it was already below the flag stick, so I wasn't completely sure whether it went in or disappeared in the shadows behind the flag. Our opponents both thought it was above the flag stick when it disappeared and were sure it went in. When we got up to the green, there was nothing on the green, so I hurried over to the hole and sure enough, it was in there. And yes, I did buy a round, and no, if you missed it, I'm not buying this week.
